3rd East Hills Affordable Housing Development

Pittsburgh, PA

Continuing our philosophy from the Second East HIlls project, these new buildings have easily identifiable units, which helps avoid the monotony that can sometimes occur in low-income housing developments. The townhouses have individual entrances and bright colors, varied porches and other changes in detail. Landscape design played a prominent role visually, as well as in controlling the water run-off. This community also has a central community center, a pavilion to anchor the exterior space, and six new buildings with a total of 47 units.
