Located within the Morewood Dormitory building, LGA designed a new makerspace for Carnegie Mellon University to be a feature space for the school. The resulting environment is open and flexible, able to suit the needs of many different types of student projects. Large layout spaces are coupled with smaller spaces for specific machinery. A 3-D printer and laser cutter were included in the space for student use. In addition to specialized machinery, one of the highlights of the new makers space is the "project wall," a floor to ceiling white board arrangement intermixed with pegboards. On an opposite wall, we included a laptop bar, fully equipped with power and data. Overhead grids for hanging items and ample pull down power cords complete the space.
