Emanuel Episcopal Church

Pittsburgh, PA

We were retained to restore the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, a registered Historic Landmark designed in 1884 by renowned architect H. H. Richardson. After first completing an Historic Structures Report, we restored the existing slate roof, rather than replacing it, providing the owner with significant savings. In phase two, we installed a new accessible ramp between the church and rectory, minimizing the impact of the new ramp on the original design. In the final phase, we repaired damaged plaster, restored the stained glass and cleaned the wood wainscoting and bead board ceiling.
