The 6th floor of Duquesne University‘s Rockwell hall is home to the Duquesne University Palumbo Donahue School of Business. This school has several institutes, including the Institute for Sustainable Business Innovation.

Our design incorporated a Sustainable Business Flex Space for this program. Both a classroom and a teaching tool, the flex space features a cut-away wall showing energy code-compliant wall construction.

The space’s ceiling features color-coded wiring and piping, usable as a visual aid for understanding building systems.

Red – Hot HVAC Risers & Piping
Blue – Cold HVAC Risers & Piping
Green – Sprinkler Lines
Yellow – Electrical Conduit
Orange – Fire Alarm Conduit

The flex space also includes an electronic dashboard that displays real-time energy performance monitoring data for Rockwell Hall and other campus buildings.
