GIRAFFE BARN

LGA Partners is designing a new Giraffe Barn at the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium that will enhance animal care, promote sustainability, and elevate the visitor experience. The project includes a state-of-the-art indoor habitat, feeding platforms, and expanded behind-the-scenes areas to support veterinary services and staff operations. The design prioritizes animal welfare through natural daylighting, optimized circulation, and enriched environments that reflect the giraffes’ natural habitat. Strategically located to integrate with existing zoo pathways, the new barn will serve as both a functional facility and an educational touchpoint, deepening the connection between guests and wildlife conservation.
