Master Builders’ Association, Building Excellence Award for Renovation Construction

Pittsburgh Theological Seminary aspired to modernize Barbour Library while staying true to the architectural style of their campus. As the largest theological library in the northeast, space for their collection was critical. A thoughtful balance of public and private spaces inside are introduced by the atrium entrance, with the incorporation of a curtain wall behind the classic rotunda and a skylight to bring natural light to the first and second levels.
