Life’s Work of Western PA is a non-profit focused on empowering people with disabilities and other barriers to live the life they choose. We designed upgrades to key areas of their new River Park Commons location on Pittsburgh’s Historic Southside. Our design integrates a clean, modern look while balancing the landlord’s more transitional building standards and various furnishings provided by generous donors.

A neutral palette and careful choice of defining lighting fixtures served to integrate the design elements with their surroundings. A vital finishing touch was the inclusion of original artwork by a regional artist, professor, and disability advocate Glen Brunken. Additional art, in the form of inexpensive framed giclees was installed above the tables in the Commons Café to invite the calming influence of nature indoors.
